131) Excellent Original WW2 British Army & CD Issue L&R Rubber Anti-Gas Boots 1941. Part of the early war anti-gas clothing. In excellent soft supple condition just dirty and could do with a wash and a correct left and right pair with opposite facing buckles and poppers. The majority seen for sale are the same side with matching fittings. They should be opposite Left & Right such as these otherwise the fittings of one boot would be on the inside leg when worn and catch/cause discomfort and possibly damage the inside of the other boot where as the fittings should both be on the outside of each leg such as these. The soles are excellent soft and supple. They are a matching size in every dimension . One is WD marked and dated 1941. The other is marked but the date is partly obscured under the rubber top edge from manufacture (see photos). The strong hessian type strapping looks a little tatty but were produced like this. The buckles, straps and poppers are in place and excellent.
