) An original Vickers MG belt repair tool, this is part of the gun tool kit and was for attaching and repairing the metal end feed tabs to the cloth bullet belt, these were apparently also used in the field for repairing the WW1 and WW2 Brass closure poppers on the 08 and 37 pattern webbing. It is in good useable condition with minor surface rust all of which will wipe off with an oily rag or similar, they are clearly maker marked and dated 1917. The flat metal spring is missing from between the handles. It can see where it was once attached where the stud is. It is a simple sprung metal strip which could easily be replaced although fine left as is. These were in use during both wars.
