76) Very Nice Original Early Light Weight Pattern Commando, Para Etc Toggle Rope. Excellent Original WW2 British Army Commando, Para ETC Toggle Rope. In excellent order. There were several versions of this. This is the early version of far narrower rope as opposed to the second version which had pretty thick rope. There were also several types of wooden toggle but this is the standard pattern. Showing minor dirt and storage marks. Still smells of the rot proofing treatment from the war. These were carried around the waist like a belt and when needed made a short rope or combined with others a strong safe climbing rope, rope bridges could be made from them etc. The wooden toggle on one would simply fit into the loop on another and so on. A nice original wartime item.
