71) Very Nice Original WW1 Era Royal Navy White Pith Helmet With Blue Band. By Gieves Ltd. A nice early example made by Gieves Royal Naval Outfiters. The outside is good but being white does show age related dirt and spotting. It has the early puffy type pagri with blue band underneath denoting Royal Navy. The blue band has dropped down a little and should show more above the top of the Pagri (see photos). It has lovely soft white kit leather trim which is all in nice order. The dome cap is good but has a slight wear patch to the very top (see photos). The original chinstrap is in place and good with just minor surface cracking. The green underside is excellent. The soft leather lining and red silk adjuster strip is all in nice order. It is a good size 6 7/8. The white internal dome is good but does show some staining. It has no soft spots to the helmet, all is good and strong.
