153) Nice Original WW2 British Home Front Bakelite Protective Helmet. A very nice original wartime Bakelite protective helmet. in the standard Brodie style. These were sold privately and were for use when dealing with electricity etc in bombed out areas. Often made by Plasfort and Dunn & Co among others. The shell is in great order with no cracks or damage. The inside shell is dirty and dusty with age. The liner is good but does show age related cracks and wear to the oil cloth. All is good and strong. the liner is dated 1940 but for some reason the size stamping 6 3/4 has neem stamped twice and miss stamped over the date (see photos). The original removable web chinstrap is in place and good just dirty. This shell is not maker marked. A nice wartime helmet in great condition.
