104) A very nice original wartime Private Purchase Home Front Steel protective helmet. in the standard Brodie style but with a widening rim which is wider at the sides that the front and rear. These were sold privately to members of the CD, ARP etc. It is in incredibly good condition. The shell has a couple of very minor knocks to it. All original paintwork is excellent. The inside shell is perfect. we can see any markings to the metal. The liner is again excellent with minor age related cracking but all soft and supple. It is a size 6 3/4 and dated 1939. The original chinstrap is in place and riveted to the shell from new. A nice wartime helmet in great condition.
