31) A good original British military service respirator and haversack. The respirator face mask excellent. The rubber soft and supple and the early khaki stockingnet covering nice and clean. it is a size normal and dated 1939 to the side and 1937 to the front. The head straps are good and elasticated with no stretching. The head pad is hard with age with some suppleness but no damage or cracking (this can be softened up with a hot hair dryer to change its shape etc if needed). The lenses and metalwork is in nice order (these respirators always tend to have a mixture of dated parts). The tube is perfect. the canister is nice and dated 1941 (see photos). The haversack is a MK VI with rear pockets and is in nice order with just minor marks and wear. The inside is excellent. it is beautifully maker marked and dated 1941 to the carry strap and inside flap. It shows minor storage marks (see photos)
OFFERED FOR SALE WITHIN THE UK ONLY. AS WITH ALL EARLY RESPIRATORS THIS ITEM IS SAFE TO HANDLE AND DISPLAY BUT NOT SAFE TO WEAR OR USE.
