91) An original WW1 era knitted cap comforter. This pattern of high fitting cap was designed to be worn in conjunction with the Tommy helmet. A nicely shaped design with sides covering the ears and neck and the front is raised to allow the wearer to see. Most likely produced by a comforts committee knitting circle. An unusual pattern and in excellent condition. A nice original wartime item in excellent order just dusty. The inside rear is nicely named and numbered to a soldier so could be reserched.
