68) Nice WW2 British Officers Service Dress Uniform Major W.M.Chipp Royal Warwickshire Regt 1941. This is as found never researched. A really nice untouched as found SD uniform jacket and trousers both named to "A2382 W.M.Chipp" & both dated 12th September 1941. The jacket is in n ice order but for 1 small moth hole to the left arm shoulder area, another small surface nip to the similar spit right arm and a couple of small holes to the rear and a few others dotted about but nothing that stands out and all easily repaired with a couple of stitches although fine left as is. The epaulettes are good just dusty with age. It can be seen where he has moved up the ranks to the rank of major (crown to each side). It has its original lovely quality officer bronze collar dogs to the RWR as well as all original RWR Kings crown brass buttons which are dirty with age but excellent. There is a mark to the left sleeve which will brush off with a stiff brush. The medal ribbons are that of 1939-45 Star, Burma Star & Defence medal. He would have also been entitled to the war medal if not others? The lining to the jacket is in excellent order. The internal left breast pocket has its original tailors label in place which is very dirty for some reason (this would clean up with a gentle wash with a wet cloth or baby wipe). The label is identical tailor, details and date to that of the trousers so a good matched set. The trousers are in good order but do have some period done darning to the crotch area but nothing much. A small moth hole to the upper right leg and some minor moth nips to the lower inside leg around the ancle. Again all are easily repairable and none are serious. All original buttons are in place and a matching tailor label with clear details and 1941 date is to the inside seem. A very nice as found untouched, un-researched uniform.
Measurements are Jacket Shoulder to Shoulder 18 inches. Shoulder to Cuff 26 inches. Armpit to Armpit 18 inches. Total Length Collar to Hem 31 1/2 inches. Trousers Waist 32 inches. Inside Leg 33 inches . Total Length Waist to Ankle 44 1/2 inches.
