66) An unusual blue cotton helmet, this is near identical to that on page 123 of the excellent book “Royal Navy Uniforms 1930-45” the only difference that we can see in the photograph from the book is that this one has a simple straight buckle to do the chinstrap up, the one in the book has a buckle with central pin which locates in holes to the chinstrap (see photos). the hat is in blue which is apparently for Starboard Watch. It is in mint condition and a good large size, see photos of the size markings to the item.
