WW2 US Army & British Army Lend Lease Soap Dish

An original wartime metal box soap dish, we know that these are US made and wer bought to the UK during WW2 but are not sure if they were part of the lend lease program and were for British army issue or simply came over with the US troops for issue to them or possibly issued to bot British and American troops?? anyway they are in excellent condition with some minor surface rust around seams etc but nothing bad or that stands out, the higed lid is neatly embossed with the word "soap" they are pretty much the same size as the British army alloy soap dish and measure 3 1/4 inches X 2 1/2 inches x 1 1/4 inches
