A nice original wartime issue Italian army helmet, this is the correct wartime model and not post war, this early pattern has leather chinstrap with rectangular buckle, parallel “=”stitching to the rear leather liner seam, later it was in the shape of “Z”. The helmet shell is excellent can complete with several layers of original wartime paintwork, it has had several holes made to the front which we believe may represent partisans or similar? But all original and period done, the liner is mostly excellent but dirty and needs a clean, there are several areas where the liner has become black and rotten but still in place and strong and the rest is excellent, the original wartime chinstrap is in place and pretty good and strong with a dew minor tears in places.
