An unusual pair of WW1 British army puttees, these are much shorter that the usual standard pattern of puttees yet are of the period and have both original foxes labels and brass left and right discs, having done a little research it seems that some WW1 units particularly Scottish had puttees cut down and shortened, this was also done when fighting in hot climates so it is possible that this happened with these ones although they are professionally finished so not done in the field. They are in excellent condition but do show marks and wear from use. They have the usual long WW1 ties/tapes which are 58 inches in length yet the puttees themselves are only 42 inches in length.
