A WW2 British army officers Gasmask complete with haversack, and anti-dimming ointment, although this set is un-named this respirator came with an identical one both having belonged to a Colonel Sankey Of Albrighton Nr Wolverhampton, Staffs, the other one now sold was named and we believe that this was his spare which appears to have never been touched and has not had his name added to it, This is the most perfect mask and canister that we have ever had, the mask, head straps, metal fittings, corrugated hose and canister seem as if they were made yesterday and are totally perfect and are made by the famous Siebe Gorman & co, the filter has its original label with date of January 1939, the canvas haversack and strap is the correct one that came with the mask and is also marked Siebe Gorman & co again excellent condition with no damage just minor storage dirt and of very high quality far superior to issue items, inside is a near perfect tube of anti-dim cream with a date of 1939, one end has its original cloth the other has the ointment which has never been used and has its original foil cover in place. The set really is in superb condition and has probably never even been worn. This is a mask for military use but is a non-issue mask and would have been an expensive private purchase item for officers.
