A fairly unusual heavily padded leather body armour breast cover, the main strap goes around the neck and the other around the waist, these would have been used during bayonet practice when fighting using fencing muskets. This one is in excellent soft supple but could do with a good polish, it is clearly maker marked and dated 1940, both straps are good and strong but do show some surface cracking in places.
